Koikai’s Story: A Chain of Kindness

In the hills of Oloigeruno, Koikai lives with his family of five. Not long ago, they were facing the same question many families do during the holidays—how they would get through the season, and what they would have.
Then something unexpected happened.
At Christmas, Koikai received a gift—a goat. The following year, it happened again. And then again the next year. Three Christmases, three goats. Each one was a simple gift, but one that carried real meaning and possibility.
Over time, those goats began to multiply.
What started as one became many. And with each new goat, there was a growing sense of stability for his family. It wasn’t just about livestock—it was about provision, about having something that could grow and support them.

But what stands out most about Koikai isn’t just what he received. It’s what he chose to do next.
Last year, he stood in front of his community and made a commitment. He shared that he would care well for what he had been given—and that he would pass it on. He promised that one of his goats would be given to another family in need the following Christmas.
And he followed through.
One of his goats was given to another family, offering them the same opportunity he had been given. What started as a gift to Koikai became a gift to someone else.
And now it’s becoming something bigger.
This story isn’t just about goats. It’s about what happens when generosity continues to move from one person to another. It’s about a family who received help—and chose to become part of the solution for someone else.
In Oloigeruno, that kind of kindness doesn’t stop. It grows.
