“Change doesn't come from mission statements—it comes from the dedicated people who live the mission every day.”
Business consultants often share this quote to inspire workers to embrace their organization’s vision, but it rings especially true when you see it lived out in real life.
At AfricaHope, our partner in Kenya, we see this lived out every day. Among the many dedicated colleagues serving the Maasai community, one staff member stands out through her unwavering commitment to loving and serving the Maasai community, her team members, and every visitor Africa Hope welcomes.
Meet Eunice, lovingly known as “Mama Nosim.”

Following Maasai tradition, she is affectionately called by her firstborn’s name, Nosim. Growing up in a Maasai family herself, Eunice’s heart has always been with and for her people. Fourteen years ago, she joined AfricaHope, and since then, she has worn many hats—supervisor, coordinator, teacher, mentor, pastor, counselor, confidant, and friend.
In addition to raising her own three children—two daughters, ages 17 and 15, and a 9-year-old son—Eunice has become like a mother to countless others in the rural villages where Family Partners and AfricaHope work together to bring lasting change. Whether it’s a warm smile for a visitor, a hug for a child, a word of encouragement, or her strong singing voice leading worship, Eunice embodies hope and steadfast love wherever she goes. She has become a pillar of strength on the ground for the Family Partners program.

There’s another saying worth remembering:
“An organization is only as powerful as the hearts that drive it and the hands that serve through it.”
Your continued generosity enables Eunice—and all the AfricaHope staff—to dedicate their hearts and hands to empowering the most vulnerable in their communities to thrive.
Thank you for standing with us as we equip, empower, and walk alongside these communities, building lasting change through hearts and hands that serve.
