When Naimodu joined the Family Partners program in 2016, she was a young single mother carrying a heavy load. Married at a very young age to an elderly man who later passed away, she found herself raising her children alone in a rural community with limited resources.
Today, her story looks very different.

Over the years, Naimodu’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) has decreased significantly. Her family has seen measurable improvements in years of schooling, access to electricity, clean water, housing conditions, and household assets. These changes represent more than statistics—they reflect stability, opportunity, and hope for her children’s future.
Naimodu is a committed Christian and a trusted leader in her community. She serves as a “ground person” for the program, helping identify families in need and sharing information with local leaders. Her willingness to serve others has made her a blessing not only to her own family but to many throughout Elangata Enterit.
She is also incredibly hardworking. Alongside caring for her seven children, Naimodu works as a cleaner at a local dispensary (a small local public health clinic). With the income she receives, she carefully saves and invests. Using funds from direct give, she began a small business selling fruits and vegetables on market days—creating additional income and food security for her household.

Her children are healthy, consistently attending school, and thriving in an environment shaped by their mother’s determination. Naimodu is now saving to build a modern home and pit latrine on her newly demarcated land—something she once only dreamed of.
Naimodu’s story reminds us that transformation often happens slowly, through faithfulness, wise stewardship, and community walking together over time.
