When I met Nalakiti, she was doing what mothers everywhere do — fighting for her children’s future.

A strong and determined single mom, she was raising three kids on her own in the Maasai community. Every day brought new challenges: finding clean water, putting food on the table, and paying school fees.

One of her sons was born with a disability that made walking painful. He was often weak and sick, and no matter how hard she worked, she couldn’t give him what he needed most — consistent food, clean water, and medical care. Watching your child suffer and not having the means to help is a heartbreak no parent should ever endure.

But then, Nalakiti’s story began to change.

Through the Family Partners program, she found the support she’d been praying for. With a little help, her family gained access to safe water, regular meals, and the opportunity for each child to attend school.

Along with meeting their physical needs, Africa Hope has also provided spiritual mentoring, helping Nalakiti grow in her faith and find strength through God’s Word. She now has a community that encourages her and walks beside her as she raises her children.

Today, all three of her children are thriving. Her son, who once struggled to walk, now runs, plays, and learns with joy. He’s strong, healthy, and full of laughter.

When Nalakiti shares her story now, her whole face lights up. Her smile tells a story of relief, gratitude, and renewed hope.

Her journey is a powerful reminder: when a family is supported — body, mind, and spirit — everything changes.
