The Elangata Enterit community in Narok, Kenya needed some hope.
This remote marginalized community faced challenges that most of us in America cannot imagine. Extreme poverty, the lack of safe drinking water, poor infrastructure and vulnerability were some of the challenges. Due to a lack of supplies for the school, many students used stones as desks. Hope was wearing thin.
Family Partners and AfricaHope have been working together since 2017 to transform lives in Kenya. For the past 20 years, AfricaHope has partnered with churches, missionaries and other organizations to empower the communities they serve and transform lives through Christ who brings hope.
June 20024, AfricaHope and a team from McDonough Community Church in Georgia, shared the love of Jesus Christ, sprinkled with some fun and a lot of hope, with the Elangata Enterit community. The team spent three days and nights facilitating a summer camp for over 150 students and ten teachers and providing an unimaginable impact to the community at large.
The chairman of the local primary school, Paul, shares that when he was a young boy, he participated in AfricaHope’s camps and received a scholarship to help pay his school fees. Paul is now married with two children and his story is an amazing testimony of how AfricaHope has impacted lives for over 20 years.
AfricaHope also extended an olive branch and served the entire community by helping to solve the water shortage by partnering with the community to drill for clean water.
Paul shared his appreciation for all that AfricaHope has done and said, “The members of the community could not hide their happiness for the blessings brought and the great transformation witnessed through the three-day camp.”
“The students now even have desks.”
Family Partners is honored and blessed to serve God working alongside AfricaHope. Imagine the lives transformed, and the hope restored in the next 20 years!
