FAQ
How do I give the same gift to all the families I partner with?
-
Let's say you partner with two families and want to give both families a $15 Gift Voucher and Blanket. In the cart function, you would check the box next to "Gift Voucher - $15" and the box next to "Blanket - $14", then type "2" in the box next to "How many of each?".
How do I give different gifts to the families I partner with?
-
Let's say you partner with two families and want to give one two chickens and the other family 1 set of school supplies. To do this, you would need to submit two transactions. For the first one, you would check the box next to "Chickens - $11", then type "2" in the box next to "How many of each?". In the notes section, you can specify which family this gift goes to by adding their family ID (ex. FP Mpoke 1234). For the second transaction, you would check the box next to "School Supplies - $22" and then type "1" in the box next to "How many of each?". In the notes section, you can specify which family this gift goes to by adding their family ID.
How/when are the gifts distributed to the families?
-
After Christmas, all the gift information is compiled and sent to AfricaHope. They then purchase all the gifts from local vendors and distribute the gifts in late January - early February.
Why do you emphasize that the gifts are sourced locally?
-
Sourcing the gifts locally is really important to us, and it aligns with the heart of our program, which is to help people overcome extreme poverty. By sourcing locally, we support the local vendors, which keeps the funding in the community and lifts the local economy.
